The legal route from Bangladesh to Europe always runs through BMET
(Bangladesh Manpower, Employment and Training Bureau). Here is the full
journey, step by step:

Step 1 – Verify the RL Agency
Only a licensed Recruiting Agency (RL) can process your file. Check the
license number on the official BMET website (bmet.gov.bd) before signing
anything or paying any money.

Step 2 – Contract + Written Cost Sheet
You sign a foreign employment contract and receive a written cost
breakdown. Government fee ceilings apply – hidden charges are not legal.

Step 3 – Medical & Police Clearance
Complete the medical test at a government-approved hospital and obtain
your police clearance certificate.

Step 4 – BMET Registration (Smart Card)
The RL agency submits the employer’s demand letter and your documents to
BMET. You receive a BMET smart card – your legal registration as a
migrant worker.

Step 5 – Visa Application
Your file goes to the embassy / VFS centre for the work visa. Biometrics
and any interview happen at this stage.

Step 6 – Exit Clearance + Pre-Departure Briefing
After the visa is stamped, BMET issues the emigration clearance. A short
pre-departure orientation is mandatory before your flight.
